Popular Jamaican Social Media Influencer, Juliet Bodley, popularly known as ‘Julie Mango’ has signed on to be an official Social Media Ambassador for the year-long commemoration of Jamaica’s Diamond Jubilee (Jamaica 60) in 2022.
The influencer who is known for her comedic videos depicting everyday Jamaican life, and who has over 300,000 followers on the popular social media application TikTok and another 90,000 followers on Instagram, will be partnering with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport to create and share information on the activities surrounding Jamaica 60.
“Julie Mango is known by Jamaicans across the globe for her high energy TikTok videos that depict true aspects of our Jamaican-ness, from our Jamaican proverbs, to popular personalities and pastimes and even current trends that all Jamaicans can resonate with. This is what influenced our decision to engage her as one of our key Social Media Ambassadors. She will be assisting us to highlight our Diamond Jubilee in the online sphere throughout the year, and in the process getting our message to a wider demographic, especially Jamaicans across our diverse Diaspora” said Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Hon Olivia Grange.
“We have an amazing line up of Jamaica 60 celebratory events and activities planned for the entire year, and so we are encouraging Jamaicans at home and abroad to stay tuned to our social media and other platforms, including Julie Mango’s social media pages, to keep up-to-date with the Independence Celebration happenings,” Grange added.
