The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is reminding all persons who are still interested in entering the 2021 Unique Arts and Performing Arts competitions that the deadline is this Friday, June 11, 2021 at midnight.
The competitions that are still accepting entries are the Jamaica Culinary Arts Competition, the Jamaica Creative Writing Competition and the Jamaica Visual Arts Competition, which make up the Unique Arts; and the National Festival of the Performing Arts competition’s subject areas of Dance, Drama & Theatre, Speech and Music.
These competitions are free for entry, and persons who are interested in entering may do so on the JCDC’s website at www.jcdc,gov.jm.
Potential entrants are being encouraged to consult the entry rules and guidelines of each competition, which is available on the JCDC Website before submitting their entries.
“As we move into our final day of accepting entries for our various 2021 competitions, we encourage all our entrants to give their very best as the winners of these competitions will be highlighted during the upcoming 2021 Independence celebrations. Please consult with your individual competition’s guidelines and feel free to contact our various Arts Development specialists via Whatsapp, should you have further concerns or questions about preparing your entries,” said Mrs. Marjorie Leyden-Kirton, Acting Executive Director at the JCDC.
Mrs. Leyden-Kirton is also reminding prospective entrants that all JCDC parish offices are open to provide assistance in the entry intake process.
“Don’t delay, get your entries in by midnight, Friday, June 11, 2021,” she implored.
