"This year's competition was highly competitive and spirit-filled one. At the JCDC, we take our mandate of unearthing, preserving, developing and promoting our Nation's culture seriously. Through the Customer Service Song Competition, we challenge children and youth entrants from across the island, to create an original song with lyrics reflecting Customer Service best practice, and the finalists this year went above and beyond to bring this message to life. We want to give special congratulations to the top three winners who have undoubtedly earned their awards with their display of creative talents," said Elizabeth Smith, Director of Corporate Services at the JCDC.

"Jamaica continues to shift its focus towards being a customer-centric society for economic and social advancement. Our people are known to be warm, friendly, and possess some of the brightest smiles. It is for this reason that the JCDC and our parent ministry, the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport proudly support the 2020 Jamaica Customer Service Song Competition,” Smith continued.

“The JaCSA is delighted to be partnering with the JCDC once again, the organization that has faithfully taken on the Jamaica Customer Service Song Competition over the last three years and have handled so well; they have handled it with excellence and thrown everything that they have in making this big as the national song competition,” said Dr. Nsombi Jaja, Chairman Jamaica Customer Service Association.

“There is no question that the youth of this country is the future and for that reason we continue to make them the demographic of this competition. Through this competition we are helping them to understand how important Customer Service is, and what better way to engage the talent youth from across the island than through music,” Dr. Jaja continued.

Meanwhile, Dannareo Fearon of DF Productions was ecstatic for the first place win. “I just want to say thank you to the JCDC and the JaCSA for this great opportunity for talented young people to showcase their talents and not to take it for granted. Whenever I see the JCDC putting on any competitions, I always try to put my foot in, if for nothing else, just for Jamaica to see that we have talented people,” Fearon said.

The competition’s top three winners were announced during a virtual announcement ceremony which was held on Monday, October 4, as a part of the activities to observe National Customer Service Week 2020 which ran from October 4 to 9.
