The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) is reminding all amateur and experienced Jamaican writers, playwrights and poets that the 2022 Jamaica Creative Writing Competition closes to entries at midnight on Thursday, March 31.
The competition, which is open to all Jamaicans aged seven years and older is currently accepting entries in the categories of: Poetry, Essays, Short Stories, Novels and Plays/Scripts.
The competition is divided into three levels: Junior, Intermediate, and Adult. All entrants are encouraged to write about the Jamaican experience. Awards are given to the top writers in each level of the five categories. Writers also have the chance to win attractive prizes including cash incentives, trophies and gift packages.

The Jamaica Creative Writing Competition continues to be one of the premiere channels for providing emerging and established Jamaican writers with the opportunity of recognizing and validating their talent while showcasing and promoting their original written works.
