Global Tech Firms, PSOJ and Food for the Poor Rally Behind “I Love Jamaica” Telethon & Virtual Concert – November 23

Metry Seaga, President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ)

Kingston, Jamaica: Two global technology firms, the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), and humanitarian agency Food For The Poor, have joined forces to support the I LOVE JAMAICA TELETHON & VIRTUAL CONCERT, set for November 23 to raise urgently needed funds for communities devastated by Hurricane Melissa. The event, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport and key stakeholders across the entertainment and sports sectors, will be broadcast live on TVJ, CVM, and PBCJ, and streamed across multiple local and international digital platforms from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The organisers of the telethon have secured strategic partnerships with international technology firm PPIVOTT LLC and its exclusive partner KISWE, leveraging their global D2C technology solutions, national business leadership, and relief-response expertise to help drive donor participation and overall impact.

In addition to the call for donations, the telethon, which is presented by Red Stripe and Powered by Digicel, will see performances from a rich tapestry of Jamaican musical talent, with personalities and media practitioners guiding the proceedings. Among the artistes confirmed to perform are Tessanne Chin, Christopher Martin, Tarrus Riley, Tanya Stephens, Alaine, Jahshii, Kevin Downswell, and Chevelle Franklyn.

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, said the collaboration shows Jamaica at its best. “This telethon represents the best of who we are: creative, united, and committed to each other,” she said. “We are grateful to our private-sector partners and international collaborators whose support ensures that every affected Jamaican feels the strength of a global community.

President of the PSOJ, Metry Seaga said the private sector is ready to help drive national recovery. “Jamaica has always risen strongest when we rise together,” he said. “The telethon provides a direct way to help families rebuild and support communities in real, tangible ways. The PSOJ is proud to support this initiative. It’s only through partnerships of this nature that we are going to recover, quickly and better than before. We urge companies and individuals at home and abroad to give what they can.”

One of the world’s leading D2C streaming company, KISWE, will enhance the telethon’s global reach. “We are honoured to facilitate the live global stream on 1LUVTV, as Jamaica is one of the most culturally influential nations in the world, and to help take this telethon to audiences everywhere,” the company shared.

Its exclusive partner, PPIVOTT, added that the event reflects the unifying power of culture. “We are proud to partner with the PSOJ and, by extension, the MCGES to amplify this telethon, which reflects Jamaican culture in motion—service, unity, and resilience,” noted Michael Vaccianna, Chairman, PPIVOTT (284 HLDG).

Humanitarian agency Food For The Poor will channel the funds into direct relief. “In moments like these, we are reminded that Jamaica’s greatest strength is its people. At Food For The Poor, our commitment remains unwavering to stand with every community, every family, as we rebuild together. Hope is not just something we deliver; it is something we create side by side,” said Andrew Mahfood, Chairman, Food For The Poor Jamaica.
