Dalian Watson, a 25-year-old Social Worker, was crowned Miss Trelawny Festival Queen 2025 during the parish coronation ceremony held at the Artisan Village in Trelawny on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Competing among six outstanding young women, Watson—sponsored by Modern Vision Investment Plus Company Limited—overcame self-doubt to deliver a standout performance that earned her not only the coveted title, but also four remarkable sectional awards: Best Performance, Most Culturally Aware, Most Active in the Community, and Most Popular on Social Media. Her journey was a true testament to resilience, purpose, and passion.
Now eager to begin her reign, Watson is preparing to launch her parish project, which aims to provide meals for the homeless and less fortunate families in Trelawny—a cause close to her heart and rooted in her professional commitment to social care and service.
Sharing the spotlight were Tyra Bucknor, sponsored by Smarts Auto Parts, who was named first runner-up and recognized as Most Poised, and Selena Angus, sponsored by Western STEM Academy, who claimed the second runner-up title and was honoured with the Most Congenial award—reflecting the warmth and unity that defined this year’s competition.
Watson will next represent Trelawny at the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen National Coronation on August 2, at the Independence Village, inside the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston. There, she will join queens from across the island who share her passion for cultural advocacy, leadership, and community transformation.
Presented by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition remains one of the country’s most celebrated platforms for empowering young women and promoting nation-building. The 2025 staging is made possible through the support of national sponsors, including the CHASE Fund, Airports Authority of Jamaica, National Housing Trust, HEART/NSTA Trust, PICA, and Excelsior.
