Independence Celebration2010

The national Independence celebrations known as Jamaica Festival organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will be hosted under the theme “I Believe in Jamaica” from Friday, July 30 to August 6, 2010.

Activities kick off with the Jamaica Festival Song Competition on Friday, July 30 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre and conclude with the Independence Street Parade and Grand Gala on Friday, August 6. Numerous activities are plan for all parishes with a major Western Jamaica Street Gala also planned for August 6.

The fashion colours for the Independence celebrations are black, green and gold and the general public is encouraged to fly the national flag and decorate public spaces.
