GOSPEL SONG FINALISTS START THEIR REALITY JOURNEY

The top ten finalists of the Jamaica Gospel Song Competition will make their television debut in the reality series Gospel Vibes starting this Sunday, June 26. The series, which will air on PBCJamaica, will follow the finalists on their journey to becoming Jamaica’s next Gospel great. Organised by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission, an Agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Gospel Vibes will air every Sunday, at 6:00 pm, with repeats on Mondays at 6:30 pm and Wednesdays at 9:00 pm.

According to Director of Marketing & Public Relations at the JCDC, Stephen Davidson, “Gospel Vibes will chronicle the journey of this year’s impressive crop of finalists, showcasing all their hard-word and dedication, as they vie to take home this prestigious title.”

 “Since its inception in 1987, The JCDC Jamaica Gospel Song Competition has facilitated growth in the music industry, and continues to provide opportunities both locally and internationally for Gospel artistes, even those who were not the winner on the final night.” Davidson continued.

The finalists who will be starring in the reality series are: Omar Douglas of St. Thomas, Vitalyte of Manchester, Orville Sutherland of Clarendon, Kazak Ministry of St. Ann, Jessan Nambhard of Kingston and St. Andrew, Marsha Jarrett of St. Ann, Sherlon Russell of St. Catherine, Derona Davis of Clarendon, and Triciana Simpson and Filicia Williams, both of Kingston and St. Andrew.

The 2016 Jamaica Gospel Song Competition’s grand final will kick of the Emancipation and Independence Celebrations on Sunday, July 31. Beginning at 7:00 pm, this noteworthy Gospel concert will be the first of seven nights of entertainment to be held at the Independence Village at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
