FINAL CHANCE TO VIEW AND PARTICIPATE IN ART EXHIBITION

Kingston Jamaica: The curtain comes down this Sunday, March 29 on the JCDC Jamaica Visual Arts Exhibition now on at the Jamaica Conference Centre. The Exhibition is free and open to the public between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Persons are invited to participate in the last Main Audience Day Experience (M.A.D.E.) activities which include the public mural, screen printing, the drawing centre and “Mek It An’ Share It” Initiative, which encourages the donation of hand-made toys and gifts for the State Childcare facilities.

Persons can also view Kester Bailey’s solo exhibition and the JCDC/Jamaica Conference Centre/Urban Development Corporation’s gallery programme featuring the works of Garfield Morgan, Ewan Peart and Mortimer McPherson.

Studio Notes Workshop

A three-day (Wednesday-Friday) intensive workshop in Portrait Painting & Drawing is also currently being held at the Jamaica Conference Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The presenter is Mr. Mortimer McPherson, Master Artist and Art Teacher. Registration fee is $3,500 per person inclusive of lunch and materials.

Award Ceremony

The award ceremony which starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, will be the highlight of the final day, as the top participants in the 2015 Jamaica Visual Arts Competition & Exhibition will receive their certificates, medals, trophies and cash incentives. The pieces that are currently on exhibition at the Jamaica Conference Centre will thereafter be taken on a travelling showcase across the island.
