WORLD REGGAE DANCE KINGSTON ELIMINATION SHOW POSTPONED

The Kingston and St. Andrew Elimination Show in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) World Reggae Dance Championship has been postponed. The final elimination show which was scheduled for Friday, June 13 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre will be held on Saturday, June 28 at a venue which will be disclosed later.

Entry forms for the competition is still being accepted and is available at the JCDC Head Office located at 3-5 Phoenix Avenue, Kingston 10, all JCDC parish offices island-wide and online at www.jcdc.gov.jm. Completed forms can be dropped off at any JCDC Office before the elimination show or taken to the venue at least two hours before.

The competition is open to dance groups comprising 3 to 6 persons, 18 years of age and older and residing in and outside of Jamaica. Entries are being accepted in the categories of Roots Reggae, Dancehall, Reggae Contemporary/Classic, Reggae Dancehall and Dance Narrative.

The World Reggae Dance Championship has been steadily building on a strong foundation with participants competing for over two million in cash and prizes including a return trip to Japan to perform at the Jamaica One Love Festival.
