High Anticipation for 2014 World Reggae Dance • Elimination 1 Set for Friday, May 30

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Youth and Culture is promising an exciting and electrifying staging of this year’s World Reggae Dance Championship which kicks off its highly anticipated first elimination on Friday, May 30. The Show will be held at the Ocean Village Shopping Centre in St. Ann starting at 5:00 p.m.

World Reggae Dance Coordinator, Juliet Cowan-Morgan says the expectations are high for the elimination rounds and the overall competition as the contestants have participated in a series of regional development workshops which will help to improve the quality of their performances. “We expect that the elimination rounds will be exciting as the contestants vie for a spot in the semi-finals” Mrs. Cowan-Morgan added.

The other eliminations will be held on Friday, June 6 at the Santa Plaza, Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth and Friday, June 13 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston with both Shows beginning at 5:00 p.m. The semi-finals and Grand Finals will be held in July.

The World Reggae Dance Championship has been steadily building on a strong foundation with participants competing for over two (2) million in cash and prizes, trophies and others items.
